Helmstadter 1993 Family Reunion The 81st Helmstadter family reunion was held at the White Oak Regional Park on Sunday, July 4, 1993. The invocation was given by Glenn Helmstadter followed by a picnic lunch and dessert bar at 1:00 pm. A total of 120 family members attended. The business meeting was called to order by president Jim Hager. The secretary's minutes were read and no changes or corrections were noted. The treasurer's report was read and approved. The treasurer's report for 1993 is as follows: $ 88.00 Collected - 1993 $20.00 Permit +53.14 - balance on hand 2 6.25 Games $141.14 Total 3.34 Lemonade 85.17 Expenses 36.58 Ice cream 55.00 Balance 85.17 Expenses for 1993 Under new Business: 1. A discussion was held on obtaining the picnic grove permit for next year. Glen Helmstadter and Suzanne Ray will pick up the permit on July 6 at 7 am. 2. Jeff Helmstadter made a motion to keep the time of the picnic start to 1 pm. Christine second the motion. The motion was carried. 3 . The president position for 1994 will be held by Mike Davis since by precious vote the vice president of the present year (1993) will be moved up to presidents position the following year. The floor was open for nominations for vice president and secretary-treasurer. Allan Keiser was nominated for vice president by Agnes Hager and seconded by Richard Helmstadter. Jane Hager was nominated for Secretary-treasurer by Mike Davis and second by Agnes Hager. These three members were elected as officers for 1994. 4. Thanks ware extended to all those who assisted in planning. An announcement was made that if you have any additions or changes to the family tree see Mary Ann Davis so that Paul Davis can make the necessary changes. The oldest member attending was Harry Helmstadter age 89 and the youngest was Carissa Kratz 7 months. The benediction was then given by John Keiser. The meeting was followed by games for the children and adults and were enjoyed by all. The adult winner of the candy jar guessing was Gwenn Hager and children Joe Keiser.. Helmstadter 1993 Family Reunion The 81st Helmstadter family reunion was held at the White Oak Regional Park on Sunday, July 4th, 1993. A total of 120 family members attended. The oldest family member attending was Harry Helmstadter at age 89, and the youngest was 7 month old Carissa Kratz. Family members traveling the longest distance to attend the reunion were Chuck and Pat Wallace from Los Angeles, California. The days events included the traditional picnic lunch and dessert bar followed by the egg tossing contest, volleyball, horseshoe toss, races, money in the sand, and other games. The family tree representing eight generations was displayed. Family members updated the family tree which was prepared by Paul Davis. Officers elected to plan the 1994 reunion are Mike Davis, President; Alan Kaiser, Vice President; and Jane Hager, Secretary/Treasurer.
Helmstadter 1994 Planning Meeting The planning meeting for the July 4th meeting was held at Mike Davis home at 7:30 pm on June, 1994 with Mike Davis presiding: Those in attendance were: Mike and Mary Ann Davis Roy and Hazel Helmstadter Agnes Hager John and Janet Helmstadter An and Glen Helmstadter Jim and Jane Hager The picnic will be held at the Maple Grove Pavilion at White Oak Park on July 4, 1994, Monday at 1 pm with a picnic lunch and dessert bar. Glen Helmstadter will give the invocation and John Keiser benediction. Each head of the household will once again contact each of their family members about the reunion. The permit was attained by Glen Helmstadter. Again there will be no generators. Family members will bring their own coffee, if wanted. Sue Rae ice, and snow cone and scraper. Agnes Hager Bingo games, Janet Helmstadter eggs, Glen Horseshoes and handle for water spigot, Mary Ann prizes for games, Jim and Agnes Lemonade, Cindy Games, Jim will supply the name tags and pens. Uncle Roy ice cream and sand money game. Mike get in touch with JP about volleyball set. Please remember to bring bingo prizes for adults and the children. Peggy Hager will bring the jars of candy to be counted by adults and children Ask for address and telephone number of people attending the picnic. Will have separate book to do that. A motion to adjourn was made by Roy Helmstadter and it was second by Agnes Hager.

The invocation was given by Glenn Helmstadter followed by a picnic lunch and dessert bar at 1:00 pm. A total of 70 family members attended. The business meeting was called to order by president Jeff Lunderstadt. The secretary's minutes were read and no changes or corrections were noted. The treasurer's report was read and approved. Eric Morgan will pick up the permit on July 5 at 7 am at the Angora gardens. 2. As First vice president, Carol Tharp will be the new president for the next year. As Second vice president Robert Johnston will be the First vice president for the next year. David Taylor was nominated by Agnes Hager for Second vice president and seconded by Chuck Wallace. Louise Wolfe nominated Jane Hager for secretary-treasurer and seconded by Jeff Lunderstadt. 3. The oldest family member attending was Harry Helmstadter at age 91 and the youngest was 8 month old Riley Taylor. 4. Reminisces about previous 4th of July. Uncle Jacob made 1st family tree and then Betty Louise Crosby took over. 5. Jeff Lunderstadt would like to make a circle for a prayer at the end of the picnic. Helmstadter family reunion was held on July 4,2009 at Maple Grove in White Oak Regional Park with 68 members present. Beginning at 12:30 P.M. President Beth Savage led the group in the" Pledge of Allegiance" and the singing of one verse of "God Bless America". Mary Ann Davis gave the invocation and Carol Tharp read a patriotic reading. After the picnic lunch, the meeting was called to order by President Beth Savage. A moment of silence was given to remember those who had departed over the past year ;Harold Carter, Elizabeth Carter, Robert Johnson, Sr.. Suzanne Ray read the minutes of the previous year and gave the treasurer's report which has $404.74 as the balance. Jennifer Ray was having everyone sign the registry book and collecting $2.00 for those 18 years and older. Mike Davis was selling 50/50 chances to help build up the treasury. Forty-nine dollars was collected and Henry Herold, the winner, returned $25.00 of it. Suzanne Ray volunteered to get the 2010 permit. Since the 4th. falls on a Sunday in 2010 it was decided we would gather by 12:30pm and have our lunch at 1 p.m. A motion was made that the officers would be elected for 2 years so the present officers will remain for another year. Twelve more cookbooks were ordered as Beth sold 8 more of them. Anyone wishing to order any cookbooks please have them ordered to Beth by January 2010. After some discussion, it was decided we would keep the same format for lunch for 2010. Awarding of certificates was then made. First to arrive-Mike Davis Person traveling the furthest-Chuck and Pat Wallace Longest married couple-Janis(Carter) and Art Meyers-49 years Most recently married couple-Gwen and Frank Kuhns Most children present-MaryAnn and Mike Davis-3 Most Grandchildren present-Jane and Jim Hager-4 Most Great-Grandchildren present-Louise Helmstadter Wolf Most Senior Lady present-Louise Helmstadter Wolf-99 years Most Senior Gentlemen present-Edward Helmstadter 96 years Youngest girl present-Daisy Maxwell-2yrs.5months Youngest boy present-James Fundark-4 years No further business, the meeting was closed and MaryAnn Davis gave the benediction. The rest of the afternoon children's games were played as well as the traditional egg tossing contest, volleyball, corn hole, horseshoes, and bingo. Helmstadter 2010 Family Reunion The 102nd Helmstadter Family Reunion was held on July 4, 2010 at Maple Grove in White Oak Regional Park. It was a beautiful hot and sunny day that brought 81 members to attend the reunion. Beginning at 1p.m. President Beth Savage led the group in the “Pledge of Allegiance” and the singing of one verse of “God Bless America”. Mary Ann Davis gave the invocation. After the picnic lunch, the meeting was called to order by President Beth Savage. Carol Tharp gave a patriotic reading. A moment of silence was given to remember those who had departed over the past year: Louise Helmstadter and Robert Johnston, Jr. Suzanne Ray read the minutes of the previous year. The balance in the treasury as of July 4, 2010 is $ 275.74. Beth Savage then announced that Carissa and Quinten Kratz were coming around with the registry book to sign and collect $2.00 from those who were 18 years and older. Nominations for vice-president and secretary/treasurer took place. The following members will hold office for the next 2 years: President Beata Herold, JP Herold Vice-President and Carol Tharp, Secretary/Treasurer. Suzanne Ray volunteered to get the permit for the 2011 reunion. A reminder by Beth to sign cards for the following shut-ins: Martha and Buddy Helmstadter, Louise Patterson, Carol Lunderstadt, Lola Heiser. Beth also reminded everyone that if they had anything for the memory box to please put it in the box. The 2011 reunion falls on a Monday so we are to arrive by 12p.m. and eat at 12:30p.m. Awarding of certificates were done by Beth Savage.
